13 Reasons We Loved Outcast Season 1

$
0
0

Outcast proved itself to be one of the most riveting and creepiest shows of the summer as demonic or alien possessions (we're not sure what they are at this point) overtook the people of the small town of Rome, West Virginia.

Reverend Anderson tried his best to rid the town of the demons, but his exorcisms failed on a grand scale. The only thing that seemed to work was what Kyle did, whether it was beating the victim or just laying his hands on him, or sometimes both.

But as many as they sent packing, more seemed to arrive daily, because Kyle is apparently a beacon. What they might not have expected (and neither did we) was Amber turning out to be just like daddy.

There are still no clear answers as to why Kyle draws these things. What we do know is he's from the same place they are -- wherever that is. It's just one of many questions we hope will be answered in season two.

From Wrenn Schmidt's brilliant performance as a possessed Megan to Mildred's snarky response to Reverend Anderson, here's our list of what we thought were some of the highlights of Outcast Season 1.

1. Megan Gets Possessed

Best possession megan
Wrenn Schmidt knocked it out of the park with her performance as a newly possessed. It was fascinating to watch Megan go through a possession from beginning to end. The way she walked out of the shower, the way she wiggled her toes in the wet grass and her reactions to light and water were powerful scenes that shed light into the process of possession. Wrenn Schmidt brilliantly brought it all to life and gets our accolades for best performance of the season.

2. Reverend Anderson Punches Sidney

Reverend anderson punches sidney
Sidney has been smarmy from the minute he stepped foot in Rome. He’s especially been a thorn in Reverend Anderson’s side. When Sidney walked in while the Reverend was trying to get his job back, it was the last straw and the Reverend couldn’t help himself. As he told Giles: “It’s not everyday you get to punch the Devil in the face.”

3. Mildred is Done Playing Games

Snarkiest demon mildred
Reverend Anderson thought he had cast the demon out of Mildred, but he was wrong. After Kyle touched her and discovered she was still possessed, the Reverend visited to see for himself. Mildred was done playing games and let the Reverend know the truth in a rather amusing yet chilling way. Too bad MIldren couldn’t have stayed in Rome a bit longer.

4. Mark's Shocking Death

Marks shocking death
Even if you are a comic reader, Mark’s death was something completely unexpected. In the comics he was thrown out the window and survived. On the show Megan smashed his face into the bathroom mirror and a piece of glass got stuck in his throat. It was heartbreaking to watch him plead with Megan to help him and all she did was watch him die, fascinated with all the blood.

5. Blake Fakes Us Out

Best exorcism fakeout blake
Reverend Anderson keeps thinking he’s winning against the demons of Rome, but once again he was proved wrong. Blake was one of the scariest possessed we got to meet. He did a great job pretending to be exorcised, but in the end he let Anderson know it was all fake by laughing in his face and telling him, “Is this actually your job? Do you do kids’ parties too?” Did Blake takes lessons from Mildred?

6. Reverend Anderson's Pentagram

Reverend andersons pentagram
While Sidney was a pain the Reverend’s side, the Reverend was a pain in Sidney’s side. The Reverend was intent on casting out the evil from Rome and had no intention of leaving the possessed alone. Sidney didn’t like this and decided to warn the Reverend in the most serious way by carving a pentagram on his chest.

Mr. Robot Season 2: Best New Character, Most Predictable Reveal and More!

Before it premiered, many fans wondered how Mr. Robot Season 2 could possibly top the series' amazing first season, which was widely regarded as one of the best of 2015.

Now that the season has included with the shocking, incredible Mr. Robot Season 2 Finale, one thing is very clear: while the show didn't consistently match the highs of the first season, there was plenty to love about it. Occasionally, there were even moments and performances that were even better than Mr. Robot Season 1.

Angela was brought in on Whiterose's plan, Elliot was shot by a returned-from-the-"dead" Tyrell Wellick, and Darlene wound up squarely in the hands of the FBI after Cisco's tragic death.

We're taking a look back at the best and the worst (and the strangest) of the past 12 installments of Mr. Robot. Check out our report card, and let us know your thoughts!

1. Best Cameo Appearance

Best cameo appearance
Alf is really the only possible option for this category, but that gloriously strange and random appearance of everybody's favorite creepy '80s sitcom puppet deserves a shout-out of its very own.

2. Best New Character

Best new character
Leon wins this one by a landslide. His conversations with Elliot about Seinfeld (and the deeper, more philosophical questions that arose from his binge-watch of the '90s classic) were brilliantly surreal and added a great touch to the weaker, earlier episodes when Elliot was separated from the main action while in jail. Leon's epic takedown of the white supremacist gang that attacked Elliot was nothing short of epic. We also don't know where Leon's motivations lie – what's he doing approaching Mobley and Trenton while they're in hiding?! – that's what makes him such an interesting figure and the only new one that I NEED to see next season.

3. Worst New Character (and Worst Subplot)

Worst new character and worst subplot
This is absolutely nothing against Craig Robinson, who was great in the role. I did not care for the Ray-Elliot subplot, which ate up too much time in the earlier half of the season for my liking. It felt like a lesser version of what the show did in Season 1 with Fernando Vera (except Vera was a better, more insidious villain, and that plot was far more personal and engaging). Yes, it was useful for Elliot's character growth but not SO useful that it warranted taking up all the screentime that it did. At times, this plot even felt meandering and unfocused.

4. Most Frustrating Character

Most frustrating character
Of the three new characters, I didn't know what to make of Dom, though Grace Gummer was great in the role. Occasionally, she was awesome and badass – she is, indisputably, a great FBI agent. Other times, she felt like a weakly-characterized plot device – virtually indestructible, she walked away from not one but TWO shoot-outs with nary a scratch on her. What is she, the Terminator? We also had far too many scenes establishing her same personality traits (loneliness and an inability to connect) over and over again. I was glad to see the finale explain how she always seemed to know to push Angela, Darlene, and the others. It's not because she has some weird detecting sixth sense -- the FBI was onto all of them from the start.

5. Best Return

Best return
"Bon soir, Elliot." Tyrell technically returned (and was confirmed as alive) pretty early in the season when he called Elliot in prison, but, the show being what it is, we didn't know for sure whether he was truly alive or some sort of Elliot hallucination. Tyrell's super casual return, sliding into the cab to meet with Elliot, and the ensuing confrontation that left Elliot shot and bleeding out, was pure awesome.

6. Best Reveal

Best reveal
The reveal that Tyrell was alive – only confirmed for sure once Elliot got shot by him – was spectacular. Creator Sam Esmail dove into the Tyrell-is-an-Elliot-alter theories head-on, before shooting them down (pun intended) in one fell swoop.

Supergirl Season 2 Midseason Report Card: Biggest Surprise, Best Plot Twist and More!

$

0

So much has happened already on Supergirl Season 2.

We were introduced to several new characters, Project Cadmus wreaked havoc on our heroes, and almost everyone had a secret to hide.

We're taking a look back at some of the best and worst moments in our mid-season report card. Take a look and let us know your thoughts on the season so far!

1. Best Mon-El "Fish Out of Water" Moment

Best mon el fish out of water moment
Mon-El has been a fantastic addition to the cast, and we're loving watching him adjust to life on Earth. From not knowing how to use the phone at CatCo to his confusion over mating rituals, it's nearly impossible to choose a favorite. But, we're going with him showing up to Thanksgiving with stuffing from his mattress as our winner.

2. Biggest Letdown

Biggest letdown
The CW advertised a four night crossover event, but it was really more of a three night event featuring four shows. The thirty seconds at the tail end of Supergirl didn't really count, especially considering the whole scene was replayed on The Flash. If you only tuned into Supergirl because of the crossover, you were probably pretty disappointed.

3. Best Plot Twist

Best plot twist
The mysterious leader of Cadmus was nameless for the first few episodes of the season, and we definitely wondered who she was. Still, we were completely shocked to find out that she was Lillian Luthor, Lena's mother! It set us up for an interesting dynamic between mother and adopted daughter, and we can't wait to see what happens next.

4. Worst Resolution of a Storyline

Worst resolution of a storyline
When M'gann's blood started changing J'onn into a White Martian, we thought we were in for an interesting story. The build up was great, but the resolution? Not so much. The whole thing was wrapped up with a throw away line from Eliza saying she fixed him, and that was that.

5. Biggest Surprise

Biggest surprise
The series moving to the CW meant significantly less Cat, and we have to admit we were very worried about that. However, we don't miss her nearly as much as we thought we would. That doesn't mean we don't miss her at all of course, and we still hope she pops up from time to time, but we're enjoying the series just fine without her every week.

6. Most "CW" Plot Development

Most cw plot development
Why does everyone on The CW shows have to be a superhero? Nearly everyone has powers on The Flash now, Arrow is full of vigilantes, and now Supergirl has one too. We love both James and Winn as characters, and their team up has been fun at times, but overall we are just not feeling James as Guardian.

The Walking Dead Midseason Report Card: Best Episode, Most Emotional Death & More!

$

Negan has arrived.

OK, well he technically made an appearance on The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 16, but The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 1 is where he really got things going in violent and graphic fashion with the deaths of two main characters.

And Negan and the Saviors' presence and dominance have been hanging over The Walking Dead Season 7 ever since.

In fact, this seventh season of the series has featured a broken and divided Rick and company, each trying to make their way in this Negan-ruled world. Though, from the looks of The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 8, Alexandria and company may be gearing up to fight back.

But just how good was the first half of The Walking Dead Season 7?

It's time to break it all down for you with the latest TV Fanatic Report Card!

1. Best Episode

Rick vs negan the walking dead season 7 episode 8
This one will probably have varied answers from the fans. While I initially would have said The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 4 because of the fantastic performances from Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Andrew Lincoln, and the ability to create tension and suspense without actually killing anyone, I'm going to choose The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 8. This was an episode that again showcased Negan, but it highlighted various characters and was the turning point in Rick choosing not to fight back. And how fantastic was Rick and Daryl's reunion as the characters got back together at the Hilltop? It moved the story along and made me excited to see what's coming up next.

2. Worst Episode

At the hilltop the walking dead
The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 5 was just boring. While it was great to see Maggie getting a chance to step up and show off her leader skills, I wound up not really caring. And what was up with basically no one even in the Hilltop community? And then there was the Carl and Enid storyline/romance that was tedious and uninteresting. This was an hour I don't need to revisit again.

3. Most Intriguing New Character

A new group the walking dead
I was super skeptical of Ezekiel, and the way he spoke throughout The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 2 just felt like a stretch. Yet, when he revealed that it was all an act, a role for him to take on to help lead people, more depth was added to the character. It made me want to learn more about him, and I'm curious to see how he interacts with Rick and company. Oh, and he has a tiger.

4. Most Annoying Fake Out

Heath the walking dead s6e12
The Walking Dead needs to stop with the fake outs, especially in the seventh season. Cliffhangers are fine, but pretending to kill a character off, followed by a "Nope! We got you!" is just annoying. And the one that comes to mind was on The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 6, making Tara and viewers think Heath was dead, except he wasn't, or at least the walker with a similar hairstyle wasn't him. Just an eye-rolling moment for sure.

5. Best Villain

Negan has arrived the walking dead
It's got to be Negan. This leader of the Saviors is charming and vile at the same time, and he's got no problem killing his enemies himself. And the brutal way he killed Glenn and Abraham? This is one scary guy that has earned his title as the best villain... which will make his eventual defeat that much more fantastic.

6. Most Emotional Death

Glenn waits in line the walking dead s7e1
Glenn's death on The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 1 was a major gut-punch. Abraham's death to lead off the premiere seemed like a safe pick for the show, but when Negan decided to bash in the head of a second, and it was Glenn, it was a shock. Sure, it was in the comics, but after the debacle with the magic dumpster, it seemed like Glenn would be safe. And on top of that, it was heartbreaking to see him calling out to Maggie while sputtering through his last moments of life. This is a character we've been with since the beginning, and he will be sorely missed.

The Vampire Diaries Midseason Report Card: Step Aside, Steroline!

When The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 8 returns in January, we'll be barreling down the back end of the vampire drama's final season.

Damon will (hopefully) be reunited with his love. Steroline will (hopefully) have their June wedding. Matt Donovan will (probably) survive to see the end of the series and remain human in the process.

Will his long lost father survive? Meh. Jury's out on old Peter. (Also, what secrets is this dude hiding, because YOU KNOW he's hiding something!)

Before all of this happens, let's take a look back at some of the best and worst moments from the first half of The Vampire Diaries Season 8.

Who's our reigning best new couple? Which new character is least useful? Scroll or click on through to find out!

1. Best Episode So Far

Best episode so far
Paul Wesley directed The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 6, The One Where Stefan Makes a Deal, and it was, by far, the best of the season. There was love! There was heartbreak! There was scheming! There was a nearly dying Enzo! Damon proved he's not totally gone by saving the twins (and Alaric still killed him...) and we got official word that Stefan's going dark! Again. This was a perfect episode.

2. Worst Episode So Far

Dinner party from hell the vampire diaries season 8 episode 7
It's been a pretty stellar final season so far, but the Guess Who's Dying at Dinner Christmas episode didn't really do it for us. Stefan spent half the episode dead. Sybil tried to bond with Caroline. Alaric read a LOT of books to the twins. All for nothing truly magical to happen until the final 5 minutes. Oh well. Can't win 'em all.

3. Best Couple Alert!

Best couple alert
Alright, alright. I KNOW a lot of y'all were jonesing for Steroline to take top billing, but guys, Bonenzo? Bonenzo are giving us LIFE this season. If anyone on this show is deserving of a little bit of happiness, it's Bonnie Bennett. And Enzo? Well, we can forget that whole Lily Salvatore love thing. It wasn't real anyway. Not like Bonenzo. (Let's get them a spin-off where they just sit around and Enzo teaches Bonnie to play guitar!)

4. Least Interesting Couple

Donovan and his dad the vampire diaries season 8 episode 7
Matt Donovan has been an orphan supporting himself on tips from the Grill for as long as this series has existed. Except now he has a dad. But we don't care because it's the final season, and the only thing we really care about is whether or not Matt makes it out of The Vampire Diaries as a human. Matty Blue and his dad, Peter, win for least interesting couple.

5. Most Shocking Plot Twist

Most shocking plot twist
Okay, so CADE isn't the most shocking plot twist. The Sirens storyline is sort of weirdly real-world mythological. But what's SUPER interesting about Cade, what makes his presence the most shocking plot twist, is that mysterious sucking-into-a-black-hole the souls he captures do when they're on the way to Hell. That's how Katherine Pierce left which is leading to a LOT of speculation that when Nina Dobrev returns, it'll be as Katerina Petrova and not as Elena Gilbert. Which, hey, we're okay with that.

6. Least Shocking Plot Twist

Sybils plan the vampire diaries
So Sybil had a contingency plan where she'd keep her immortality. None of us are shocked that the VILLAIN remained the VILLAIN. But for someone who claims to have hated her need to consume the flesh of men in order to stay young and beautiful and the deal that got her there in the first place, she sure does seem content not to die.

Arrow Midseason Report Card Best Twist, Worst Relationship & More!

With nine episodes in the can, we're taking a look at the first half of Arrow Season 5

There has been a lot of change throughout these first episodes. There's a new Team Arrow and a whole lot of new drama for the characters.

Surprisingly, the best episode was not the 100th episode which aired as part of the Heroes vs. Aliens crossover with Supergirl, The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow

Scroll through to find out what the highs and lows have been from the launch of Arrow's fifth season.

If you want to witness all of the drama unfold again, you can watch Arrow online right here on TV Fanatic.

1. Best New Character

Best new character
Out of all of the recruits, Rory already seems like he’s been part of the team for a long time. His initial decision to quit the team after learning about Felicity’s involvement in his hometown being destroyed was respectable, but it was great that he found a way to forgive her and continue fighting the crime in Star City.

2. Worst Character

Worst character
Rene AKA WildDog. There’s being unlikeable and then there’s Rene. He has the worst attitude on television and his condescending tone almost made me quit the show altogether. Thankfully, he’s been far less annoying in recent weeks, but still, he’s annoying.

3. Best Twist

Best twist
I know I may be getting a little ahead of myself here, but I refuse to believe Laurel’s return is a figment of Oliver’s imagination. She looked EXACTLY the way she did in the fake reality the Dominators created. Somehow, something went wrong and she’s managed to escape back into the land of the living. I don’t see how Flashpoint could have affected anything because it seemed like the characters were still very much in the know about her being dead. Can it be January yet?!

4. Worst Twist

Worst twist
Oliver killing Malone by accident seemed a little too farfetched to take seriously. I can’t be the only one who predicted it was going to happen as soon as Oliver showed up looking for Prometheus? It was lazy writing for sure, but it did pave the way for Stephen Amell’s alter-ego to become a likeable character again. Hey, we never thought it was possible, either.

5. Best Episode

Secret identies arrow
The midseason finale was the best episode of Arrow in years. If you thought the 100th episode was lacking on the action side of things, this episode made up for it. There was action from start to finish, and it genuinely seemed like we could be losing Curtis, but instead, Curtis was losing his man. Also, LAUREL RETURNED, but hopefully not as Black Siren.

6. MVP of the Season… So Far!

Mvp of the season dot dot dot so far
Diggle was dealt a rough hand with a lot of changes in his life. He started the season with a target on his back, before having to go into hiding. He then had his daughter replaced with a son thanks to the immense power of messing with time. Now, things are about to get a lot worse for him since he’s totally heading for prison. We can probably thank Evelyn and Prometheus for that one.

Once Upon a Time Midseason Season 6: Sinking 'Ships, Big Twists & More!

Even in its sixth season, Once Upon a Time continues to captivate viewers with an epic world where fairytales and soap operas combine.

This season, a big focus has been on the mythos surrounding being the Savior, and Emma's internal struggle as she comes to grip with a peek into her future – one that will ultimately lead to her death.

We've also had a glimpse into the Land of Untold Stories, where Jekyll and Hyde, Cinderella, and the Count of Monte Cristo had continuations of their well known tales.

And then there's Agrabah, and the introduction of Aladdin, Jasmine, and Jafar, a storyline that we've only just begun to scratch the surface on.

All the while, the usual players, Rumplestiltskin, the Evil Queen, and Zelena have been creating their usual kinds of havoc, as Storybrooke continues to be the town where everything that can go wrong will go wrong.

What do we think of Once Upon a Time Season 6 so far? What stories have left us scratching our heads? Which 'ship are we excited to see more of? Who is this season's MVP? We answer all of that and more below!

Once Upon a Time returns in March, but don't forget, you can watch Once Upon a Time online right here at TV Fanatic and get caught up on the action before it makes its way back to your televisions!

1. Season 6 MVP So Far: Regina/Evil Queen

Schemes for the queen once upon a time season 6 episode 5
We don't understand how Lana Parrilla has been denied Emmy recognition for her role on Once Upon a Time. She carries the show weekly with her incredible performances as both Regina and the Evil Queen. It's hard to say which side of her we prefer more. The Evil Queen may be unhinged, but she's a lot of fun to watch, while Regina continually packs emotional punches that remind us why we fell in love with her in the first place years ago.

2. Character We Need More Of: Snow White

Character we need more of snow white
It's been rough to see Snow White on the sidelines for so long. Now she's back in the forefront, but it still doesn't feel like we see her enough, especially when she's been saddled with a storyline that keeps her asleep 50% of the time. Is it too much to ask that we get some bad-ass Snow White scenes in the second half of the season?

3. 'Ship We Can't Wait to See Again: Outlaw Queen

Robin hood and regina on once upon a time s5e2
The mid-season finale left us with new questions about Regina's future, in wake of David's wish that the Evil Queen would get exactly what she deserved. The two pieces of the Evil Queen DID get just that; while the evil half was turned into a snake, Regina was reunited with Robin Hood in the alternate universe created by Emma's mind. Will Regina enlist Robin's help in getting back to Storybrooke? Is this Robin a carbon copy of her lost love? Is this the beginning of Outlaw Queen 2.0? We can't wait to find out!

4. Biggest Let Down: Aladdin in Storybrooke

Aladdin works his magic once upon a time season 6 episode 5
It's not that we don't love Aladdin, Jasmine, and Jafar – in fact, we LOVE them. That's why we've been a bit let down by the lack of story for them. We're hoping that their tale will pick up the pace, especially because we need more Jafar.

5. Twist That Gave Us the Most Questions: The Black Fairy

Angry gold once upon a time season 6 episode 8
It seems to be a little late in the game to give Rumplestiltskin some mommy issues, doesn't it? The reveal that his mother is the evil Black Fairy, who steals children, certainly fits the character. And it leaves us with many questions; why hasn't this come up until now? Why was he the one child she didn't want? Why does she have such a vested interest in Gideon? Perhaps most important: who will play the role of this new Big Bad?

6. Biggest Eye-Roll: The New Sleeping Curse

Biggest eye roll the new sleeping curse
Haven't Snow and David been through enough already? We get it: the show centers around this tentpole couple that “always find their way back” to each other. But can't they experience something new that keeps them apart? Why another sleeping curse?

Despite some not-so-great moments and at least one episode that fell totally flat, The Big Bang Theory Season 10 has been pretty enjoyable so far.

It's given us fun guest stars, endearing moments, and several reasons to literally laugh out loud.

Check out our mid-season report card to see the best, worst, and funniest of The Big Bang Theory Season 10 so far!

Need a refresher? You can always watch The Big Bang Theory online right here via TV Fanatic!

The Big Bang Theory returns Thursday, January 5th at 8/7c on CBS.

1. Best Episode

More fun with flags the big bang theory
The Big Bang Theory Season Episode 7, "The Veracity Elasticity," managed to be one of the funniest, most enjoyable episodes of the season so far. In it, we learn that Amy has been lying to Sheldon about her apartment, while Penny has been secretly getting rid of Leonard's geeky stuff.

2. Worst Episode

Cohabitation issues the big bang theory
The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 5, "The Hot Tub Contamination," is the worst episode of this season so far. Generally, it's filled with awkward, unncessary moments, such as Raj and Stuart sneaking into to Howard and Bernadette's hot tub and feeling sorry for themselves.

3. Most Romantic Moment

The beautiful couple the big bang theory s10e1
Leonard and Penny's second wedding ceremony should have been something we got to enjoy a little longer, but it still managed to be incredibly sweet, and definitely the most romantic moment of the season so far -- despite the family drama that surrounded it.

4. Best Quote

A walk down the aisle the big bang theory s10e1
Bernadette: I now pronounce you husband and wife... and weird other husband who came with the apartment.

5. Moment That Made Us Laugh Out Loud

Funniest moment
This moment also came from the best episode. As Sheldon and Leonard speak in Klingon so the women won't understand them, Amy and Penny also start talking in their own language, much to the surprise of the guys.

6. Best Couple

The happy couple the big bang theory s10e11
Howard and Bernadette are consistently The Big Bang Theory's best couple, and having a baby together just proved that even more this season.

This Is Us Season 1: 19 Reasons We Rejoiced

$
0
0

This Is Us blew us away with its freshman season.

We fell in love with the Pearson family and all of their friends, not to mention the unexpected and welcome extended family we've met so far.

We rejoiced at the many moments that made us laugh, cry and contemplate our own lives as we compared them to the Pearsons.

A family drama has never grabbed our attention so fast, and a series has never been as aptly titled.

Join us as we celebrate This Is Us Season 1. And keep an eye on TV Fanatic, because the partying will continue until the show returns for it's second season.

And if you have not yet met the Pearsons, watch This Is Us online to get to know them. You won't look back!

1. We Laughed

We laughed
This is life. So we laughed when Randall thought he was losing his mind. Little did we know it was only the beginning and the best was yet to come from Randall and the entire Pearson family!

2. We Knew Jack Pearson Loved His Daughter

Jack pearson loved his daughter
There's no doubting Jack's love for his daughter, Kate. He was her hero, and years later, after his death, Kate still believes she's partially to blame for his no longer being with us. They guy bedazzled and Vogued for her. Dying was probably on his list of allowables, too.

3. We Smiled at an Incredible Parenting Concept

Introducing an incredible parenting concept
Even though the kids weren't always close growing up, by introducing the concept of the Big Three (granted, originally meant for three triplets by birth, even better that it remained when Randall was included), it gave Kevin, Kate and Randall something to cling to when times got tough.

4. We Fell In Love

We fell in love
Jack seemed like the perfect husband, and we were buying what Milo Ventimiglia was selling!! Beard, clean shaven, drinking or sober, there was something about the man that tugged at our heart strings. He always seemed to have the right thing to say, even if it wasn't always at the perfect time.

5. We Enjoyed the Rad in Family Tradition

Putting the rad in family tradition
Randall takes (or took) family traditions to a whole new level and watching him rousing people Thanksgiving morning reminded us of what the holiday is supposed to be about. It's too bad his holiday didn't end as brilliantly as it began.

6. We Saw Even Good Marriages Could Falter

Marriages can falter
The clues were there all along, but viewers were so busy seeing Jack as the best husband and father ever they missed the trail of tears leading to the finale. No relationship, no man, no woman is that perfect. We're all fallible, and now we wait for what's next for Jack and Rebecca.

Nashville Season 5: Best Character, Best Song & More!

Nashville Season 5 has had fans in a glass case of emotions.

It started with Juliette's plane crash and her difficult road to recovery.

Next, we watched a happily reunited Scarlett and Gunnar return to their bickering, mistrustful former selves, just in time to find out that Scarlett is pregnant and doesn't know who the father is.

Lastly, just as things seemed to be falling into place for Rayna, Deacon and their little family of four, a stalker shows up and threatens their safety. If that wasn't enough, just after Rayna escapes her stalker and fans everywhere were breathing a collective sigh of relief, she's involved in a tragic car accident that ultimately killed her.

Wow, Nashville. Just wow.

Read on to see what I thought were the best and worst parts of the first half of Nashville Season 5.

And remember to tune in for the second half, which premieres on June 1, 2017 at 9/8 Central on CMT or just watch Nashville online.

1. Best Couple: Rayna and Deacon

Rayna and deacon in bed nashville s5e2
It breaks my heart to write this, knowing that one half of this couple is now gone, but there's no denying it's true. Rayna and Deacon were Nashville's best couple for the first half of season 5. Despite all that they've been through they somehow grew even more as a couple — working through their past to start a concept album; moving on from Maddie's emancipation and accepting her new relationship; and ensuring the safety of their family when a stalker showed up. I can't even imagine how Deacon will move on from such a devastating loss.

2. Best New Character: Clay

Maddie and clay grow closer nashville season 5 episode 7
I had high hopes for Clay when they first introduced him, and despite some inconsistencies and slow development, I'm still excited to learn more about him. He seems strong and sensible which most likely comes from the woman who raised him — his grandmother. But we also know he has some deep internal issues stemming from his mother's addiction and abandonment. I'm interested to see how these feelings play out in his music.

3. Annoying New Character: Zack

Rayna in california nashville s5e1
Zack rubbed me the wrong way from the start. He's a tech billionaire who loves Rayna so much he flew her out to do a private, exclusive performance for him and his friends. That just screams arrogant, spoiled and entitled to me. Next, he buys his way into her life by purchasing a substantial stake of Highway 65. Then all of sudden he's using his position within the label to move in on Will. I'm sorry but all of this was just too much for me. I'm not a fan.

4. Annoying Old Character: Scarlett

Annoying old character scarlett
I love that Scarlett is getting a backbone and searching within herself to find out exactly who she is and what she wants, but while she's doing that, she needs to stop making decisions that impact other people. She told Gunnar she loved him and wanted to be with him then she basically just took it back. She said she wanted to be part of The Exes but she's constantly pulling away from the duo. Now she's pregnant, which is the biggest and most important decision a person can ever make. I just hope she figures things out before she ruins her life and that of those around around her.

5. Most Improved Character: Juliette

Most improved character juliette
Okay let's be real, Juliette has always been one of the best characters on Nashville but things got a little crazy for her during the second half of season 4. She abandoned her husband and baby, spiraled out of control with the use of drugs and alcohol, and was a raging bitch to anyone who tried to help her. This season the Juliette we know and love has returned, facing a lot of adversity along the way. Recovering from the plane crash and her injuries, Jules has embraced her faith and accepted support from those who love her.

6. Most Valuable Character: Rayna

Most valuable character rayna
Fans were shocked when Nashville lost Rayna. Not only because she's a main character and Connie Britton is so beautiful and talented but because the whole show revolved around her. She was Deacon's soulmate/wife; Maddie and Daphne's mother; the head of Highway 65; Juliette's competition/mentor; Scarlett's aunt/mentor/boss; and last but certainly not least, legendary, country superstar, Rayna Jaymes. She was at the center of everything. I know it won't be easy to fill her void, and I know the show can never replace her, but I look forward to seeing the other characters step up in her absense.

From the birth of Halley to that shocking season finale, The Big Bang Theory Season 10 had several standout moments.

Check out the report card below to see the best, worst, and most memorable moments from the season.

Need a refresher? You can always watch The Big Bang Theory online right here via TV Fanatic!

The Big Bang Theory returns Monday, September 25th to CBS.

1. Most Surprising Moment

Most surprising moment
After another woman comes on to Sheldon, he realizes there's only one person he could ever be with, and he travels across the country to propose to Amy in a moment that defines The Big Bang Theory Season 10.

2. MVP

Sheldon loves to be admired the big bang theory s10e24
Who else could be the MVP of the season other than Sheldon Cooper? He consistently steals the show, is the funniest, and more importantly, he's the character who has seen the most growth -- particularly during Season 10.

3. Most Unexpected Pair

Were twins the big bang theory s10e19
When Raj needed a place to stay, he temporarily took Sheldon's old room, and developed a special bond with new roommate Penny. Poor Leonard felt like the third wheel, and didn't even have a matching shirt!

4. Best Episode

Dont even want to know the big bang theory s10e12
There are a few standout episodes from this season, and The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 12, "The Holiday Summation," is definitely one of them. While other episodes had more significant moments, this episode was funny and thoughtful while also digging into serious issues.

5. Worst Episode

Cohabitation issues the big bang theory
Not every episode can be good, and this season certainly had some duds. The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 5, "The Hot Tub Contamination," was pretty much a disaster. Talk about uncomfortable to watch.

6. Most Underutilized Character

Leonard gives a thumbs up the big bang theory s10e22
The most underutlized character this season? Leonard. Now, this one is kind of a toss up, because Raj has also gone a long time without having storylines of much substance. That changed a bit during The Big Bang Theory Season 10, though, while Leonard remained sidelined far too often.

Supergirl Season 2: 13 Reasons We Loved It!!

Some shows experience a sophomore slump, and with so many changes going into Supergirl Season 2, we had our concerns.

The CW proved to be the right home, despite meaning Calista Flockhart would no longer be a series regular. We love Cat, but we didn't miss her nearly as much as we thought we would.

While the season wasn't perfect (we're looking at you, Guardian), the additions of talented guest stars, deep, meaningful story lines, and strong character development led to a vast improvement over Supergirl Season 1

We've picked out some of the reasons we thoroughly enjoyed the sophomore season. Do you agree with our assessment? Scroll through our list and let us know what you loved most!

If you want to relive them, feel free to watch Supergirl online and enjoy!

1. New Network

New network
Moving to The CW made perfect sense for Supergirl. It's part of the Arrowverse and changing locations facilitates crossovers like the attack of the dominators and the musical crossover with The Flash. Yes, the move from LA to Vancouver meant less Cat, but The CW proved to be the better fit.

2. Guest Stars Galore!

Guest stars galore
Supergirl Season 2 featured so many amazing guest stars! Superhero fans reveled in appearances from Teri Hatcher, Lynda Carter, Kevin Sorbo, and Dean Cain. Plus, we had Tyler Hoechlin who did a fantastic job as Superman. The only complaint would be that Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain never had the chance to share a scene together!

3. Introduction of Lena

Introduction of lena
Lena has been such a conundrum all season, and we loved every minute of it! Is she good? Is she evil? So far, we are firmly on the side of good, as she's bravely stood up to her evil mother, and been an amazing friend to Kara. But, there have been signs that the tables could turn. She is a Luthor after all. We hope she stays good, but mostly, we're just glad Katie McGrath will be a series regular on Supergirl Season 3!

4. Strong Friendships

Strong friendships
While the Guardian persona didn't exactly take off, the story at least gave us plenty of growth for James and Winn's friendship. The two of them shared some wonderful bonding moments while risking their lives to protect the city. A fun bromance also developed between Winn and Mon-El, and Kara gained a new BFF in Lena.

5. Perfectly Tackled Alex's Coming Out

Perfectly tackled alexs coming out
We were very impressed with the way the show tackled Alex's coming out story and her developing relationship with Maggie. Her struggle to tell Kara about her growing feelings felt real, and Chyler Leigh knocked it out of the park. We were heartbroken with her when Maggie initially turned her down, but have enjoyed every second of seeing them together since she changed her mind.

6. Hilarous Jabs at the Current State of Politics

Hilarous jabs at the current state of politics
From Kara's comment before meeting President Marsdin, "How did anyone even vote for that other guy?" to Cat's riveting speech to resist the aliens who have promised to "make our world great again," Supergirl has had a little fun with current events. They even had an entire story centered around Cadmus trying to "deport" aliens from the planet.

Grey's Anatomy Season 13: Best Relationship, Worst Episode & More!

For better and for worst, Grey's Anatomy Season 13 has been one of the most talked about seasons of the series.

After 13 seasons, that's quite the accomplishment. There were some ups, many unfortunate downs, and so much fighting

There were some great guest -stars, some interesting love triangles, and many character-centric episodes that slowed things down and honed in on a select few.

Season 13 also saw the directorial debut of Ellen Pompeo, herself, as well as Kevin McKidd, Debbie Allen, and Chandra Wilson.

One thing is for sure, a lot of feelings were invoked throughout this season. Now, whether they were good, bad, or downright ugly is an entirely different observation to make. You can sound off about that below, but first, check out our TV Fanatic Report Card of Grey's Anatomy's thirteenth season.

Want to relive every deliciously soapy moment? You can watch Grey's Anatomy online right here via TV Fanatic!

1. Most Improved - Meredith

Joy
Meredith has had her fair share of questionable moments (that entire situation with Maggie, threatening DeLuca etc.,), but for the most part, she's greatly improved this season. She's been a competent, capable doctor. She has stood by her beliefs, challenged Bailey, and been a supportive friend to both Alex and Nathan. We also saw her grow as a woman and a sister. It's been amazing watching the 180 she's done when it comes to supporting and protecting her family, and accepting family she never would have accepted years ago. It was also nice to see her be willing to move on from Derek without feeling guilty about it. Meredith has matured as a character, and she's all the better for it.

2. Most Polarizing Character - Eliza Minnick

Ga person
Eliza Minnick will go down in the books as one of the most polarizing characters in Grey's Anatomy history. You either loved her or loathed her, with very few who fell in between. Eliza and her infamous Minnick Method clashed with nearly everyone. The only one who seemed to truly enjoy her was Arizona. Her days at Grey Sloan were tumultuous at best, but she finally pushed people too far when she didn't alert authorities about an endangered resident, and since the residents were her job, well, she ended up losing hers. So long, Minnick.

3. Character Who NEEDS Better Screentime - Alex

Now boarding greys anatomy s13e23
Honestly, how many times has Alex been put into a slot like this? We've lost count. Season 13 was SUPPOSED to be the season of Originals. While that failed on multiple levels, the worst of it was how underutilized Alex was. It's true that he dealt with the trial at the beginning of the season, but he virtually disappeared for the rest of it. The show went multiple episodes without even seeing or mentioning him. The back half of the season he abruptly tracked down Jo's husband in the most erroneous storyline in a season chocked full of them, but nothing came from it. He barely had a line in the season finale. Hopefully, he will not find himself in this category again next season.

4. Character Who Has Grown On Us - Nathan

Dashing doc greys anatomy s13e14
Nathan has gone from the arrogant outcast to a great doctor, yes, but a supportive friend. His persistent pursuit of Meredith was offputting at times, but he made up for it in his softer, serious moments. He was supportive of Meredith processing her grief, but also, he has proven to be a great, supportive friend to Maggie despite the love triangle issue, and he's been on better terms with Owen as well. We got to peel back the layers of Nathan Riggs, and now that Megan has returned, we expect to see even more. Looking forward to it!

5. Most Out of Character - Arizona

Greys 1313
The Arizona we're most familiar with checked out earlier in the season, sometime after comforting DeLuca upon his return to the hospital. We haven't seen much of the woman that we love since. She was inconsistent and flaky all season. Not to mention the majority of her relationship with Eliza had her inexplicably coming across like a total horn-dog. She was amazing in season 12. What happened to the Arizona who stuck by her set of morals and was protective of her friends? We're not used to Arizona appearing so one-dimensional.

6. MVP of the Season - Ben

Resident swagger greys anatomy s13e22
Through the good, bad, and annoying, there was one character that consistently shined every single time. That character was Ben Warren. He became a bit of an audience surrogate saying exactly what we were probably yelling at the screen and reacting the same way we were reacting. Whether it was being brutally honest with his colleagues, calling his wife out on her mistakes, rocking his surgeries with virtually no help, or running into a burning building to save his friend, Ben Warren was a rockstar all season long. Somebody had to be the mature one around there.

The Son Season 1: Favorite Moment, Craziest Scene and More!

If you missed out on The Son Season 1, you missed out on an exceptional show. The story of the Eli McCullough both as a young boy and an older ranch owner was mesmerizing in every way.

Check out what we thought stood out the most on The Son's freshman season.

If you want to see what you missed, you can watch The Son online right here via TV Fanatic!

1. Favorite Moment: Sally's Night Out with Phineas

Favorite scene sallys night out with phineas
After the horror of watching her son, Jonas, get shot (and eventually recover), Sally deserved a little bit of me time. Phineas took her for a night out on the town and it was probably the most delightful thing she'd ever done in a long time. She never wanted to spend her entire life on the ranch and going out with Phineas reminded her of that. We loved seeing Sally dressed up, and her antics at the club were a lot of fun to watch.

2. Favorite Couple: Maria and Pete

Favorite couple maria and pete
From the very beginning, it was obvious these two had intense feelings for each other. While it might not be fair to Sally and the kids, the fire between Maria and Pete can't be denied. These two belong together.

3. Character We Want to See More Of: Neptune

Character we want to see more of neptune
Neptune came onto our screens during the ambush on the seditionists. He has no fear, not even of someone as horrible as Niles Gilbert. He has super skills in the gun department and is fiercely loyal to the MucCullough family. Who is this guy and where did he come from?! We want to know more!

4. Creepiest Moment: The Curse

Creepiest moment the curse
Eli scoffed when Maggie read his fortune from her hat full of rocks. What he didn't know was that she didn't tell him everything. She kept the darkest parts of his future secret until he stole her horses and left her to die. Then she shared everything and put a curse on him to boot. It all seemed crazy until it all came true. It makes you wonder what else Maggie might have shared that we weren't privy to.

5. Craziest Scene: Eli's Scalping Fantasy

Craziest scene elis scalping fantasy
What a shocking opening to The Son Season 1 Episode 3, "No Prisoners"! We all knew that Eli had a dark side, but we never knew how dark it was. After being turned down for a loan, Eli fantasized about scalping the banker. As far as he was concerned the banker was now the enemy and fair game for attack. While it didn't really happen, It certainly caught our attention. Not only was this one of the craziest scenes of the season, it was also one of our favorites!

6. Worst Character: Niles Gilbert

Worst character niles gilbert
We have nothing but contempt for Niles Gilbert who seethes with hatred for those he doesn't quite understand or want to understand. If they're different from him, they're the enemy. We still don't understand his tolerance of Neptune, but we have an idea it has to do with Niles' respect for Eli. Still, we can only imagine what horrible thoughts rumble through his sick, racist mind. If only someone would tie him up and teach him a lesson!

21 Jaw-Dropping Moments from Gotham Season 3

Gotham never ceases to amaze.

Gotham Season 3 was full of surprises from Bruce killing Alfred to him finally wearing the cape. There were shocking deaths this season and a couple of astonishing revivals.

Check out our list of jaw-dropping moments below. Do you agree with our picks? Hit the comments and share your picks!

If you need to catch up, you can watch Gotham online right here via TV Fanatic!

1. Goodbye Alfred

Bruce kills alfred
The two-part Season 3 finale was everything a Gotham fan could imagine, but we certainly didn't expect Bruce to kill Alfred. It was one of the most jaw-dropping events of the entire series. Even though Alfred encouraged him to do it in hopes of breaking Bruce's brainwashing, it was a complete surprise. Luckily for Bruce – and us – it happened near the Lazarus Pit, so Bruce was able to bring Alfred back life. What this means for the future is anyone's guess, but we're glad Alfred is back in the land of the living.

2. The Riddler Emerges

Nygma becomes the riddler
After almost two seasons of teases, Nygma became The Riddler, embracing his persona after shooting Penguin and leaving him to die. But it wasn't until he held Lucius hostage that he finally came up with his villainous name. For a short time, he was able to wreak his own brand of precise havoc on Gotham, but not he's frozen in ice thanks to a revived Penguin and Mr. Freeze.

3. Batman Lite

Bruce takes on his destiny
At the end of Season 3, Bruce took the biggest step yet to becoming the Dark Knight when he saved a family being mugged in an alley. Who didn't get chills as he retreated to the top of the building in full prototype Batman regalia?

4. Bad Girl Lee

Lee taps into her inner bad girl
Lee decided to give up her goody-goody image when she infected herself with the Alice Tetch virus. It was fun watching Morena Baccarin transform into the sassy bad girl intent on spending the rest of her life with Jim. Infecting herself was the only way she saw the relationship working, but in the end, Jim did the right thing and gave her the antidote. Lee left town, but her effect on Jim will last forever.

5. The Love Triangle

The love triangle
We were convinced Penguin and Nygma were going to be a couple worth championing, but then Isabella entered the picture and dashed our hopes for a Nygma/Penguin romance. Penguin wasn't going to let anyone get in his way and killed Isabella. Unfortunately, Nygma found out, and he didn't handle it well, setting out to destroy Penguin. He almost succeeded.

6. Ivy Grows Up

Ivy grows up
Ivy got herself into a bit of trouble when she was nosing around where she wasn't supposed to be. Fish set Marv after her, but Ivy got away. Unfortunately Marv briefly touched her before she jumped into the water pipes. It was enough to make Ivy grow into a young adult. She still has her childish mind, but she gained many other skills including a special talent with plants. Now she and Penguin have partnered up, and we can only imagine what fun is on the horizon.

The Originals Season 4: Best Twist, Biggest Letdown & MORE!

We're giving The Originals Season 4 the TV Fanatic Report Card treatment.

We're running down the best and worst of a solid season of the supernatural drama series.

It was the first season of the series airing without parent series, The Vampire Diaries, and you will be surprised at how well it held up.

Remember you can watch The Originals online right here via TV Fanatic.

Read on and let us know what you would have chosen in the comments.

1. Best Episode

Haylijah is back the originals s4e3
The Originals Season 4 Episode 3 was a surprisingly awesome episode of the supernatural drama. We finally got to see Klaus meeting back up with Hope after being apart for five years. Understandably, the father-daughter struggled to connect at first because of the time that had passed. This episode was vintage The Originals and proved that the series still had a lot of life left in it. Having the family together as they realized a new threat was emerging was awesome. Then there was the confirmation that Haylijah was very much still a thing.

2. Worst Episode

Throwback thursday the originals s4e10
The Originals Season 4 was a solid season, so it's difficult to pick out the worst episode. The Originals Season 4 Episode 10 was decent, but it struggled with some pacing issues. Primarily, having Elijah in the pendant was the root of that. With Freya, Hayley, and Hope being sent in throughout to try and save the day, it was obvious there was going to be some sort of twist. I did not bank on Elijah trying to kill Hayley, but it only served to throw conflict into their relationship. On top of that, Freya became very unlikeable. She promised Hayley she would not put hope in danger, yet she sent her into the pendant. How was she to know that Hope would be able to save the day?

3. Breath of Fresh Air

All the power the originals
Summer Fontana was a delight as an older Hope Mikaelson. Her performance was outstanding, and her acting range was put to the test when Inadu took over Hope's body. It's disappointing that Fontana will likely not be back for Season 5 due to the new time jump.

4. Best Couple

Back together the originals s4e11
Who would have thought that Davina and Kol would get their happy ending? After Davina's death on The Originals Season 3, it was surprising to have Davina back in the mix. She was poised to die once more when Inadu apparently died. Thanks to Hope, she was saved and managed to make an escape from the French Quarter with the love of her life, and, well, it looks like they are going to get married thanks to that HUGE diamond Kol had.

5. Character Who Needs More Screen Time

Character who needs more screen time
Josh has always been a thrilling character to have around, but with Davina's decreased presence, he was lost in the shuffle. He and Marcel are still friends, but with Marcel out of the city, what's left for Josh? All we can say is that he needs more prominence on the show. He always serves as great comic relief despite the crazy things that are going down around town.

6. Best Friendship

Davina and josh
They may have been apart for much of the season, but the few scenes with Davina and Josh together were EVERYTHING. They have been friends for so long, and it was great they got to say one last goodbye.

The Flash Season 3: Best Episode, Best Reveal, Biggest Heartbreak & More

Despite its rocky start, The Flash Season 3 found its footing faster than a man named Wells could whisper, "Run, Barry, Run."

As usual, our heroes faced off against an evil speedster hell bent on ruining Barry Allen's life. Except this speedster had a unique connection with Barry.

Because he was Barry.

We want to talk about the season's other twists, team-ups, tensions, transformations, and so much more. We've listed some of our favorite, and least favorite, moments below.

Scroll through our choices, and then feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Need to catch up or simply relive the action? You can watch The Flash online anytime!

1. Best Episode

Two barrys the flash s3e23
We know its probably not fair to choose the finale, but The Flash Season 3 Episode 23, "Finish Line," deserves the title. The hour had everything. A final battle between Barry and Savitar-Barry. Iris showed off her badass skills while Caitlin reclaimed a part of herself. The team stepped up to save the day, and shared a heartbreaking goodbye. Make that two heartbreaking goodbyes. Barry finally accepted responsibility for his time manipulations, and left his friends behind to pay the price.

2. Most Disappointing Episode

Grodds army the flash s3e14
The Flash Season 3 Episode 14, "Attack on Central City," was billed as part two of the Gorilla arc, aka, the return of Grodd and his army. While we love Grodd, and we loved everything about the team's trip to Gorilla City, the second hour of Grodd might have been one too many. Maybe it was a budget issue, but the gorillas played far too small of a role. Most of the hour was split between H.R.'s version of Valentine's Day, Barry's frustration, and Jesse's decision to relocate. We expected more battles and less drama.

3. Best New Character

Gypsy tracks her man the flash s3e18
It's impossible not to love earth-hopping bounty hunter Gypsy. Just ask Cisco. He declared his intentions to marry her a few minutes after they met. Sign us up to attend that wedding, please. But sparkly chemistry aside, Gypsy proved herself to be a badass again and again. She never wavered in her beliefs, but she did show her softer side when she allowed H.R. to live despite his law-breaking. She showed off her excellent timing when she saved Cisco, and she helped the team more than once even though she prefers vibing solo.

4. Best New Character (Runner-Up)

Tourist trap the flash season 3 episode 13
Yes, we're cheating a bit, but we think Julian's worth it. Obviously as Harry Potter fans we were going to cheer for any character played by Tom Felton. But we were also prepared for disappointment when Julian showed up post-Flashpoint with a bad attitude, and an arrow over his head proclaiming him Dr. Alcahemy. But we were pleasantly surprised when we learned he was an unwilling pawn rather than a criminal. He joined the team, fell for Caitlin, and worked on his interpersonal skills. Plus, he dressed like Indiana Jones for a trip to meet gorilla. What's not to love?

5. Most Underused Character

Lost in thought the flash s3e21
Considering how much of The Flash Season 3 was spent on finding a way to save Iris' life, wouldn't it have made more sense to give the lady in question something to do? We saw Iris being reckless for a few minutes. We saw Iris being sad for a few minutes. We saw Iris being a badass for a few moments. But, mostly, we saw her standing around while those around her acted and reacted to her perilous situation. It's frustrating, to say the least, to watch the leading lady have so little to do. Especially when her life was literally on the line.

6. Biggest Head-Scratching Transition

Killer frost returns the flash s3e18
How and why did Dr. Caitlin Snow lose so much of her good sense, and non-criminal behavior, when she transformed into Killer Frost? Caitlin spent much of the season fearing her new powers, and then she succombed to her icy alter ego after her near-death experience. But we never received a clear answer as to why. Why was she the only Team Flash member to change personalities thanks to her powers? It was never explained. And considering Caitlin broke through twice, first when Julian expressed his love, and then again when she stopped herself from killing Cisco, her descent into evil makes even less sense.

Game of Thrones Season 7: Best Episode, Biggest Payoff & MORE!!

Was that the fastest paced season yet?

Game of Thrones Season 7 moved the action along at an electric pace while giving viewers some huge payoffs after years of watching.

We're looking back on the penultimate season of the smash hit HBO drama as we prepare for the end of the series.

Scroll down as we run down the best and worst of it.

1. Best Death

Best death
Viserion dying was heartbreaking to watch, but it was executed so well. It also served to show that Daenerys is not as invincible as she first thought she was. Knowing one of her dragons is gone will likely help her think her decisions through before acting impulsively. We are dreading the day Dany has got to go to war with Viserion. That's going to sting.

2. Most Predictable Moment

Most predictable moment
Bran finding out the truth about Jon's parents was needed, but it was so god damn predictable. Bran is becoming too powerful and everyone seems to not think much of it.

3. Best Episode

Best episode
Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 4, "The Spoils of War," was a phenomenal episode that sent Daenerys into war with Drogon. The battle scene was outstanding with a lot of twists and turns. The look on Jaime's face when he heard the dragon was priceless. The cliffhanger was a bit out there, but it closed off an episode that raised the stakes for every single character.

4. Worst Episode

Worst episode
Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 3, "The Queen's Justice," was a solid outing, but it is the worst episode of the season. The main issue was Euron taking Ellaria and the remaining sand snake to King's Landing. Having to listen to him pledge his allegiance to Cersei as he belittled Jaime was cumbersome to watch.

5. Biggest Payoff

Biggest payoff
Arya killing Littlefinger was a well-executed scene, especially when you consider the emphasis on Sansa and Arya being at odds with each other. Somewhere along the way, they compared notes and realized Littlefinger was the one who should be sent to his death. The scene with Littlefinger thinking Arya was the one in the firing line was delightful. The smug look on his face disappearing was so worth the wait.

6. Most Shocking Moment

Most shocking moment
The Night King using Viserion to take the wall down was quite the shocker. Everyone wondered what would happen in Game Of Thrones Season 8 to close the series off, but we did not bank on Season 8 ending with the villains through the wall. Oh, and we don't know what happened to Tormund and Beric. Yikes.

Grey's Anatomy Midseason Report Card: What Worked and What Didn't!!

Half of Grey's Anatomy Season 14 is under our belts, so it's time for a little review.

There have been many ups and a few downs as the fourteenth season tried it's hardest to bounce back from a lackluster season before. The question is did they succeed?

Below is a little midseason summary of what was a success so far this season, and what was lacking. Check it out as we break down what worked and what didn't. Then sound off below with your thoughts.

All-new episodes of Grey's Anatomy will return January 18. Until then, you can (re) watch Grey's Anatomy online here via TV Fanatic.

1. Love Triangle - Worked

Love triangle worked
After 13 years Grey's Anatomy did the impossible, they gave us the most mature love triangle ever. Megan's return could have led to some ugliness and angst, but it was so damn pleasant to watch because everyone was so mature. The only people weirded out about it was everyone else.

Meredith was overjoyed that Nathan could have his love story, so she encouraged him to fight for Megan. Megan was totally game for Nathan moving on with Meredith if he was happy. Meredith and Megan totally had a girl crush on each other. And when it was all said and done, there was no jealousy or animosity anywhere. It was a total love fest for everyone involved. It was pretty darn incredible.

2. Abigail Spencer as Megan Hunt - Worked

Abigail spencer as megan hunt
Abigail Spencer breathed new life into this relatively unknown character. Megan was such a fun, interesting, refreshing character. Spencer had fantastic chemistry with McKidd. They felt like actual siblings when they were interacting with one another. Megan was feisty and determined, and in such a short time she left an impact. She commanded the screen every time she was shown. Hopefully, the door is open for her to drop in again.

3. Nathan's Understated Departure - Didn't Work

Nathans understated departure didnt work
Yes, it's nice that he got his happy ending and all of that, but his departure just sort of happened. There was no transition. The happy ending wasn't bad, but it was just one of those things where the character departed without much fanfare. It was so quiet and understated, and the buildup to it was non-existent.

I felt like we as viewers could have appreciated it more if there was some warning that he would be here today and gone tomorrow. He didn't even get to say goodbye to Owen, April, or Maggie. But, you know, cheers to the happy family!

4. Grey's 300 - Worked

Greys 300 worked
The 300th episode of Grey's Anatomy was a momentous occasion and they celebrated it beautifully. Rather than doing a more traditional clip episode or attempting to bring tons of people back, they managed to pay homage and take us down memory lane in a creative way. It was full of callbacks, classic Grey's music, character mentions, and so much more.

The doppelganger medical case was definitely creative. The nostalgia was intense all the way through, and the ending was absolutely perfect. Meredith winning the Harper Avery, and hearing the beautiful speech her colleague and friend gave on her behalf while she looked up to the gallery to see her friends, family, and the proud ghost of Ellis is one of the greatest moments in the show's history. Meredith and Alex going back to their gurney and toasting to the occasion with Cristina over the phone hit us right in the feels. Honestly, the first half of the season could have ended with just that.

5. Cyber Attack - Didn't Work

Hacked
The midseason finale was the weakest episode of the season. The cyber attack plot was redundant for anyone who watched a handful of other medical shows already. It was generally frustrating all around when it mostly painted almost everyone in a negative light. The doctors of GSM came across incompetent at best, and other than Richard saving the day by being awesome as usual, the episode was boring.

6. Paul's Arrival - Worked (Barely)

Pauls arrival worked barely
Paul's arrival barely makes it on the list of things that worked. It mostly works because we've been waiting for him to pop back up and confront Jo for nearly two seasons now. It didn't make for a particularly fun or interesting cliffhanger. I stand by that because the fact of the matter is, it was long overdue. However; it does mean that this storyline can finally move forward, and that's why it works overall.

We're halfway through The Walking Dead Season 8, and following the incredibly shocking reveal on the mid-season finale, there is a whole lot to process.

After The Walking Dead Season 7 left a rather sour taste in a lot of people's mouths, the series is desperately attempting to win back many fans that seemed to have lost hope. During the first half the series' 8th season, The Walking Dead did at times stumble along its path of redemption , but it also made some notable adjustments that unquestionably worked in its favor.

Check out our mid-season breakdown of some of the best and worst of The Walking Dead Season 8 so far!

The Walking Dead returns on Sunday, February 25th at 9/8c. Until then, you can watch The Walking Dead online right here at TV Fanatic.

1. Best Episode: Some Guy

Best episode some guy
There were definitely some quality episodes throughout the first half of Season 8, but "Some Guy" is the hands down winner of this category. Not only were we treated to an epic installment featuring Carol in action and doing what she does best, but Ezekial's fall from grace provided an extremely poignent moment with the loss of Shiva. I don't think any character's death throughout this series' run has hit me harder than the loss of a CGI tiger.

2. Worst Episode: The King, The Widow And Rick

Worst episode the king the widow and rick

While the first five episodes of the season were pretty solid, the sixth episode is where things started to get a bit rough. From a jumbled episode with little to no flow, coupled with poor editing decisions and disjointed pacing made this one an easy pick.

If you so dare, go back and re-watch this one. When compared to the rest of the season, the quality is night and day.

3. Best Twist - Morales' Return

Not ricks savior the walking dead s8e3

When Rick infiltrated the Savior outpost in search of their weapons cache, encountering someone from his past was the last thing we were expecting. The reveal that Morales was not only alive, but also in cahoots with the Saviors hit us with a nice double whammy.

Though his return was short lived, The Walking Dead was able to address his whereabouts since parting ways with the group in Season 1, and definitively bringing Morales' story to a close.

4. Least Surprising Twist: The Saviors Escape

Least surprising twist the saviors escape

With Negan and the rest of his comrades trapped inside the Sanctuary for the majority of the first half of Season 8, it was not a question of if the Saviors would find a way out, but when. It was obvious that Daryl's plan to flood the Sanctuary with walkers wouldn't work the way he intended, and the end result merely aided the Saviors in their escape.

Perhaps if Daryl put a little more thought into his plan instead formulating it soley out of anger, it likely could have succeeded.

5. Most Intriguing New Character: Siddiq

Kneel before jadis the walking dead season 8 episode 7

We don't know much about Carl's mysterious new friend other than he's killed roughly 237 walkers, and that's what makes him so interesting. While I'm not as quick as Carl was to trust the guy, I don't believe Siddiq poses any threat to the group.

In fact, with Carl's recent walker bite reveal as a result of getting his friend to Alexandria, Siddiq will likely feel that he owes one to Carl, and that helping Rick going forward is the least he can do.

6. Character That's Overstayed Their Welcome: Gregory

Some explaining to do

As dangerous as Negan is, and as much as everyone wants to see his head on a pike, Gregory is equally as threatening. Granted he's not capable of leading a horse to water, let alone make it drink, but what he lacks in leadership he more than makes up for in manipulation. While he isn't the type to look you in the eyes as he bashes your skull in like Negan, he's the type of person who will swiftly and easily stab you in the back when you least expect it.

As humorous as it is hearing Gregory repeatedly calling Maggie by the wrong name, the manipulation and deceit has grown increasingly tiresome. The quicker the Hilltop takes Gregory out of the equation, the better off they (and viewers) will be.
